The day after the biggest disappointment of the season so far, let's break down Bills quarterback JP Losman's season...

  • His best statistic is QB rating...80.6 ranks him 18th in the league and for a 2nd year qb essentially that really isn't terrible. It's everything else that makes me cringe.
  • He has passed for 1498 yards through 9 games or 166.4 yards per game. He has thrown for more yards than Walter, Harrington, Hasselback, Bledsoe, leftwich, Romo, Leinart, Young, Culpepper, Warner, etc. All of these guys have not started all of their teams games. In fact they haven't started more than 1 game. JP has the fewest yards in the NFL among QB's who have played every game.
  • He has only 7 td's thus far. This puts him in a tie for 25th in the league. Again, among quarterbacks that have played in all their teams games, he ranks ahead of only the aging Brad Johnson.
  • His TD percentage, 3.1%, naturally is terrible. This is the percentage of tds per pass attempts or in other words, he will throw 3 tds in 100 passes. This ranks 27th in the league.
  • Losman ranks 32nd in the league in sacks with 30. Even worse, he ranks dead last in the NFL, 34th, in sack yards with 243 yards lost.

In conclusion ladies and gentlemen, the numbers don't lie.
