Week 8-Predictions

Hey the Bills can't lose this weekend, which means I won't have to be depressed for 1 week and I won't have to get into fights with at least 3 of my friends as to the cause of the loss and who played good/bad and who should be cut/fired

BILLS NEWS: The Bills have moved Jason Peters to left tackle. Finally. Gandy was terrible. I don't know why this move took so long. Gandy is a bum. Rookie 7th round pick Terrance Pennington will play right tackle. He can't be worse than Gandy. Fowler and Villiarial stay the same and Gandy moves to left guard. Well, he will play left guard until he gets benched for Duke Preston in 2 weeks. Why is Gandy on this roster? Anyways, I like the moves even though I don't think JP would be much better with Wolford, Ritcher, Hull, Davis and Ballard protecting him but we will see.

Houston Texans @ Tennessee Titans (-3) PICK: HOUSTON
Carr is playing out of his mind and they have Andre Johnson.
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Philadelphia Eagles (-6.5) PICK: PHILY
Jacksonville lost to Houston 27-7 and they are not bouncing back in this game.
Atlanta Falcons @ Cincinnati Bengals (-4.5) PICK: CINCI
Cinci bounced back with a big win vs a good Carolina team, this will be close but Bengals by 7.
Tampa Bay Bucs @ New York Giants (-9.5) PICK: TAMPA
Tampa is getting hot and their kicker is a baller. They won't win but they will keep it close.
San Francisco 49ers @ Chicago Bears (-17) PICK: CHICAGO
If the Bears score 18 points they cover. Their D might score 18 themselves.
Arizona Cardinals @ Green Bay Packers (-3.5) PICK: GREEN BAY
This is my lock of the week. Green Bay will win by more than a TD. Zona is a disaster.
Seattle Seahawks @ Kansas City Chiefts (-6.5) PICK: KC
No Hasselback and no Alexander is reason enough and KC has momentum after HUGE win.
Baltimore Ravens @ New Orleans Saints (-2.5) PICK: Saints
Are the Saints for real? McCallister is playing his best football (averaging 4.9 a carry)
St Louis Rams @ San Diego Chargers (-9) PICK: Rams
I think the Chargers will win, but 9 points is ridiculous.
Pittsburgh Steelers (-9) @ Oakland Raiders PICK: Steelers
The Raiders are terrible and the Steelers are desperate. This could get ugly.
New York Jets @ Cleveland Browns (-1.5) PICK: Jets
Somehow the Jets have a winning record. I hope they lose but I don't think they will.
Indianapolis Colts @ Denver Broncos (-2.5) PICK: Denver
THIS IS A LOCK. I still have never seen Peyton Manning win a huge road game outside against a top echelon team. Denver's D has allowed 7.3 ppg, now we get a chance to see how good they really are. Denver by 3.
Dallas Cowboys @ Carolina Panthers (-6) PICK: Carolina
Carolina is just a better team. Romo may be mobile but the Cowboys line will have no match for Peppers.
New England Patriots @ Minnesota Vikings (-2.5) PICK: New England
They are the Patriots. God I hate them.

Week 7 Power Rankings

  1. Denver Broncos (5-1), their offense barely has a pulse but they have allowed only 44 points through 6 games. Their D is better than Chicago's.
  2. Indianapolis Colts (6-0), Manning is a straight up balla
  3. Chicago Bears (6-0), they are here only because they are 6-0. Grossman is overrated bigtime. They should have a loss last Monday night and have the weakest schedule in NFL history. (they have played Green Bay, Detroit, Buffalo, and Arizona so far and their next 2 games are against Miami and San Fran...give me a break)
  4. New England Patriots (5-1), f the patriots...12-1 in their last 13 vs Buffalo, Brady is good and I hope he crashes his automobile or drives it off a cliff.
  5. New York Giants (4-2), they are 3-0 in the toughest division in football with 2 of those wins on the road. They are in the driver seat to win the NFC east.
  6. San Diego Chargers (4-2), tough loss this week at arrowhead but are still front runners for a wild card in the AFC. Would be at 5, but Merriman is a cheater.
  7. New Orleans Saints (5-1), nice story, but i am not sold on this team being among the elite in the NFL.
  8. Atlanta Falcons (4-2), Matt Schaub, free agent in 06 Marv pick him up. Did Vick really throw 4 td passes or was I dreaming. Probably dreaming.
  9. Cincinnati Bengals (4-2), they haven't beaten Buffalo since 1988. Complete ownage.
  10. Carolina Panthers (4-3), The bills interviewed John Fox, but their coach is dick Jauron. Did I mention they interviewed Marvin Lewis too? hmmm
  11. St Louis Rams (4-2), Holt is underrated, he is among the best in the league with Smith, Harrison, etc. They could easily be 5-1 if it wasn't for the stupid 10 second runoff rule that wasn't applicable at the end of the Seahawks game.
  12. Baltimore Ravens (4-2), their D is good as usual but Air McNair is washed up and everybody knows it.
  13. Philadelphia Eagles (4-3), they lost to a team that scored 0 offensive touchdowns. They blew a 24-7 lead at home vs. the Giants. Bring back TO.
  14. Minnesota Vikings (4-2), huge win over the hawks. Although, losing to the Bills at all during the season should somehow knock you out of the top 20.
  15. Seattle Seahawks (4-2), they are 4-2 with a -21 point differential. Also, they lost to Minnesota who lost to the Bills which is worse.
  16. Dallas Cowboys (3-3), you can't afford to lose home divisional games in the NFC east. Also, you can't throw 2 int's inside the 5 yard line. Also, you can't drop passes on 4th and 2. Tony Romo is about to take over the NFL.
  17. Pittsburgh Steelers (2-4), Ben was finding it and then he got hurt again...that's too bad. This team will make a run eventually, but their are too many good teams in the AFC.
  18. Kansas City Chiefs (3-3), Who is Damon Huard? HUGE home win vs the Chargers. LJ tackles people by their hair and I like that.
  19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-4), If your kicker can drill a 62 yarder with no time left, that is impressive.
  20. Jacksonville Jaguars (3-3), I thought this team was supposed to contend but they just lost 27-7 to the Texans. That might be the most lopsided win in Houston Texan football history.
  21. NY Jets (4-3), how are the Jets 4-3? you gotta be kidding me. Leon Washington had a good game vs the Lions...figures, he is an FSU alum
  22. Washington Redskins (2-5), make a QB switch for god sake. Brunell is 58 and you drafted a QB in the first round. Give him a chance.
  23. Green Bay Packers (2-4), Brett could lead this team back into contention with his next 2 games against the Bills and Cardinals (2 wins)
  24. Houston Texans (2-4), who knows how good Carr would have been if they built a semi decent team around him. How do you not draft Reggie Bush?
  25. San Francisco 49ers (2-4), I only know like 3 players on their team.
  26. Cleveland Browns (1-5), Chaz Frye isn't the answer (although he is better than Losman)
  27. Detroit Lions (1-6), I don't know, their fans suck, so does their piece of shit baseball team.
  28. Tennessee Titans (1-5), Travis Henry has been off the handle the past 2 weeks. He is a good back, in 02-03 with Buffalo he had over 1400 yds rushing and 13 tds, and over 400 yds recieving and another td. He can play. They could have beaten the Colts.
  29. Oakland Raiders (1-5), They beat the Cardinals who would beat the Bills so they would beat the Bills.
  30. Arizona Cardinals (1-6), they would beat the Bills.
  31. Buffalo Bills (2-5), this team is bad, their QB is bad, the team doesn't care, the coach is nice, fans are getting annoyed, the owner is senile, the gm has 0 experince, the o coordinator calls direct snaps to Josh Reed...I need to stop now.
  32. Miami Dolphins (1-6), It is funny that some people picked this team to go the super bowl before the season. They are a disgrace.

Patriots 28 Bills 6

First of all, I predicted 27-6 on my last post...damn I am good. Since 2001-2002 season, these are the Bills records before the start of November:
    1. 2001-2002 1-5
    2. 2002-2003 5-3 (but the first week in November we lost to NE 38-7)
    3. 2003-2004 4-4
    4. 2004-2005 2-5
    5. 2005-2006 3-5
    6. 2006-2007 2-5
This means that the Bills were legitimately out of playoff contention by November 4 of the last 6 years, that is pathetic.

SO what can we take out of today game? Hmm...where to begin?
  • Lets start with the quarterback...3 turnovers today, 8 turnovers in the past 3 games by hime alone...of our teams 14 turnovers this year, he has accounted for 12. But hey, at least he is taking care of the football. JP Losman got stripped by an official today when he was scrambling. I was JP's biggest advocate before the season, but this guy is NOT a winner, NOT a leader and CANNOT protect the football. He stares down his number one option. He cannot make decisions nearly fast enough which is why he has been sacked for -161 yds this season. That ranks dead last in the NFL. He has been sacked 19 times this season, 3rd last in the NFL. I am a believer in letting a young quarterback take his lumps and try and improve but when he is getting gradually worse you have to wonder. The team doesn't appear to play hard for him and his leadership abilities are completely absent. If he doesn't improve dramatically soon, it could be time for Craig Nall at Houston in week 10. Matt Schaub is a free agent this year, he is the best QB on the Falcons roster...Marv should think about picking him up.
  • I know the O-Line is bad, but the Texans arguably have the worst O-Line in the NFL and their quarterback has a 94.6 rating good for 5th best in the league coming into today and his team just polished off the allegedly good Jaguars. We need to sign a beast O lineman in free agency and I am duck- taping a 1 after the 7 on my Losman jersey and writing PETERS over Losman. At least I won't feel ashamed owning a Jason Peters jersey. By the way, I thought Aaron Merz had a decent game.
  • I thought our wide outs were good until today. Another costly penalty for Price, Evans dropped a TD, Reed is Reed, Davis was wide open but of course Losman missed him for a potential TD.
  • Willis McGahee is sick and will demand out of here by 08. The dude just flat out has no help. The Bills have ZERO threat of a passing game and Mike Gandy is his left tackle, MIKE FUCKING GANDY.
  • Royal had his best game to date. I actually noticed him.
  • How about our offensive play calling...we burned two very quality time outs today. First timeout in the first quarter to set up a direct snap to Reed. In the 2nd half, we call a time out on 4th down from our own like 20 yard line to set up a punt. How hard is it to set up a punt? It's not like there are different formations...I just don't get it.
  • Takeo is not the same. He seemed a little better today, but still he is an 81 in Madden tops.
  • Crowell stood as if he were in a daze when a fumble was sitting right in front of him. Figures, we sack Brady and he fumbles and the Patriots still get a 3 yard gain.
  • I don't know if the personal foul was called on London but diving at Brady when he was conceding a sack is one of the dumbest plays i have ever seen. Almost as dumb as the opener in '04 when he kicked the ball for a delay of game penalty on the Jags winning drive. By the way, for diving in there after Fletcher, Kelsay should have been benched for the rest of the game.
  • Clements still sucks, McGee still is worse.
  • Simpson will be good but gave up long td's in consecutive weeks on the same play and Whitner is good, probably the best player on our defense.
  • Tim Anderson finally lost his starting job. It's about time, this guy should not even be in the league.
  • Where was our special teams today? TERRIBLE, except Lindell. Nice signing of Tony Hargrove. I noticed him once today and he was fanning on a tackle that sent Maroney 80 yds on a kick return.
Well, the Bills are 1-12 in their last 13 against the Patriots. I can't see them beating them ever again. I don't think the players can see themselves beating them ever again. There is a reason why Jauron got fired by the Bears and didn't get hired by anyone for like 3 years. He is not a good head coach. When fans are chanting "let's go sabres" in the third quarter, you know the Bills have reached a lowpoint. In fact, in the 21 years I have been alive this is the lowest point the Bills have reached. No life, no plan, no leadership, no coaching=no playoffs for 7 straight years.

WEEK 7, Here we go again.

The Bills haven't made the playoffs since 1999-2000. I was 14. Bill Clinton was president at the time. Since then, every single NFL team has been to the playoffs except Buffalo and choke artists Dennis Green and company. Well if the Bills lose Sunday, which we can all assume probably will/should happen, they will be 2-5 and officially out of playoff contention...Before NOVEMBER. The good news, we play the Packers after the bye, the bad news, we play at INDY after that...3-6 if we are lucky.

A win over New England could cure everything. It just so happens we get to play them after their bye week...again. I love how Bill Belichick, arguably the best coach in the NFL, always has an extra week to plan for the Bills...a team he could probably gameplan for in 5 minutes. New England can run the Ball, the Bills can't stop the run. New England can stop the Run, the Bills can't pass. So we won't be able to run or pass on offense, and we won't be able to stop the run, or pass on defenese. Reche Caldwell should have a field day with Nate Clements covering him today. The Bills haven't beaten the Patriots since 2003 and that was a fluke...New England won the Super Bowl that year, the Bills were 6-10. In total, in their last 12 meetings, the Bills are 1-11.

Keys to Victory
  • stop the run, somehow, someway, stop the run. By stop the run, I mean hold Lawrence Maroney to about 100 yards...I will be happy with that. For some reason I can see Dillon/Maroney running for 125 each.
  • RUN THE BALL....RUN THE GOD DAMN FOOTBALL STEVE FAIRCHILD OUR QB WILL NOT WIN US THIS FOOTBALL GAME RUN THE BALL. I think we should run the ball more, if McGahee has 30 carries in this game we have a chance. First off all, we will keep New England off the field...2nd of all, Losman won't have as many chances to turn the ball over and screw us royally.
  • Get Ashton Youboty in the starting lineup...Am i serious??? Almost. Clements is not good. He is getting paid Champ Bailey money and that is funny. 7.3 million to get lit up each and every week??? If Brady wants to, he can tear apart our defense through the air. SO, what should the Bills do? Hope Brady, who is probable again, for the 58th consecutive week with a right shoulder injury, miraculously changes to OUT-IR before Sunday and is out for the year.
  • No trick plays/fake punts/stupid ass shit!!!!!
  • Oh and note to Robert Royal: No illegal blocks in the back after your teammate picks up a first down when you are driving to take the lead in a huge divisional game. Thanks.
Prediction- I hate to do this but New England 27 Buffalo 6...this one could get ugly, i hope it doesn't but it could. Last year we played New England tough on the road and came home to playthem again...we lost the game 35-7.
ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?!?

When i saw my street Saturday morning, completely dessimated, I really didn't think the week could get any worse but....it did. The Bills are officially a bad football team and again, for the fifth time in 7 years, the bills could be out of contention come October.

So what can we take out of Sunday's game?
  • Obviously, the Bills defense is atrocious. Kevin Jones gashed the Bills defense for 127 yards on 23 carries and 1 td. His previous 5 rushing totals were 8, 93, 81, 64, 35.
  • The Bills pass defense sucks. NATE CLEMENTS HAS 1 INT IN THE LAST 22 GAMES AND WE ARE PAYING HIM 7.3 MILLION DOLLARS, ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!!?!?!?
  • MIKE GANDY NEEDS TO BE SHIPPED OUT OF THE NFL. James Hall had 3.5 sacks Sunday, he had 1.5 in the previous 5 games.
  • Coaching. I was having some faith in the coaching staff until week 3. How and why is Willis McGahee running the football only 17 times in a game while JP Losman is throwing the ball 34 times. Losman threw the ball twice as much as McGahee ran it. That just doesn't seem to make much sense.
  • JP Losman must not realize that he has a blind side. Every single time he has been tackled from his blind side he fumbled the football. Way to take a 16 yard loss on a sack at the end of the first half by the way. That is a heads up play. Are we going to see any life from this guy. He had a chance to win us a game Sunday in the fourth quarter but what did he do, take like as 20 yard loss on a sack then scramble for 10 yards to set up a 4th in 10, better than expected I guess.
  • Lindell and Mooreman are good. McGee is strictly a kick returner, he can't cover a swimming pool.
Detrit fans are terrible, I swear to could hear a pin drop in the fourth quarter when we had the ball down 20-17. And every time the Bills did something good this guy would scream "Ordonez." I didnt get it, maybe because their piece of shit baseball team finally had a good year for the first time since 87 or something. Yet if they weren't good, about 6000 people would go to each game at Comerica. Banwagon??? Oh and by the way, that brings me to another point. All NHL fans are banwagon fans. If the Sabres aren't good come February, about 7000 people will be at each home game. Thats just how it is.
